With the announcement of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results expected soon, there are various ways that you can use to get them faster and conveniently.
The Kenya National Examinations Council has said that the marking of KCSE 2021 is complete and the results will be announced by the Cabinet Secretary for Education Professor George Magoha.
This year’s exams saw over 800000 candidates sitting for the exams. A 10% increase from last year. With the schools re-opening, candidates are eagerly waiting for the results that will be key in determining their next academic journey.
There are various ways that you can use to check the 2021 KCSE results. The two major ways include:

- KNEC ONLINE PORTAL
1. SMS CODE
This is the fastest most convenient way to check the 2021/2022 KCSE results. The SMS CODE service is available across all the mobile service providers. These include Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom.
To get the results, you should send an SMS with the candidate’s index number to 20076. The service costs 25 shillings to get the results feedback.
2. How to Check KCSE Results Online
You can also check your KCSE 2021/2022 results online by using the below steps:
- visit the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal.
- Click on the KCSE Exams online results
- Enter your index number and Submit
- The results will display on the screen
3. Visit your exam centers
You can also choose to physically visit your exam center to access your results. All schools usually have a copy of the performance for all their students.
Traditionally, exam results announcements used to happen earlier. However, since the emergence of Covid-19, there has been a change in the school calendar hence the reason why results are coming out this time of the year.
