This morning, the minister for Education announced results for the 2023 KCSE exams. While releasing them, he noted that Over 900,000 students sat for the exams and are now ready to proceed to the institutions of higher learning.

However, when announcing the results, the minister stated that this year will be different as the results will not be accessed via SMS.

This is a deviation from the previous years when Candidates could send an SMS code and instantly access the results.

How to check the 2023 KCSE Results

This year’s results will be accessed through the Kenya National Examination Council Portal. Alternatively, you can use direct URL link results.knec.ac.ke.To access the results, you are required to have both the candidate’s index number and names and per the exam registration.

The process is free as long as you have access to the internet. However, to access the result slip, you will need to visit the examination center.

KCSE grading system

This year’s exams will use a new grading system where only 2 mandatory subjects will be used to calculate the mean grade. The examiners will then be required to pick other top 5 best-performing subjects.

Previously, the examiners would use 5 mandatory subjects to grade the candidates.
