There are three ways through which you can check your status. These include via SMS, Online, or physically visiting their offices.

Step 1: Go to the SMS menu

Step 2: Key in the term ID then space then put in the Identity card number in full. This should look like ID 12345

Step 3: Send the SMS to 21101

Step 4: You will receive your confirmation details via SMS. Kindly note that the SMS service costs 10 shillings

Online

This is the second way through which you can check your NHIF status

Step 1: Visit the NHIF online portal and go to self-service

Step 2: On the portal, you will need to create an account. This involves providing information with details such as phone number, NHIF number, and email address.

Step 3: After successfully creating an account, you should now log in to check your NHIF status.

The process is free as long as you have a connection to the internet.

Visit the NHIF Offices

The final process of how to check your NHIF status in Kenya is through visiting any of their offices countrywide.
